DAVID MEYRE LAB
Our vision is to explore the biological roots of human obesity and its complications including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
We aim to:
Identify novel susceptibility genes in multi-ethnic populations
Investigate gene interactions with specific environments (e.g. lack of physical activity)
Assess the usefulness of personal genetic profiling in prevention and clinical care
The Meyre laboratory's home is the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact.
We are part of the Population Genomic Program and Centre for metabolism, obesity, and diabetes research at McMaster University and we actively collaborate with the Population Health Research Institute in Hamilton.
